Dixie moonlight, swanee shores. Heading homeward bound once more. To my Mississippi Delta home, home, that's my home. Southland has a garden spot, whether you believe it or not.

I hear those breezes whispering, "Come on back to me."

Muddy waters 'round my feet, and muddy waters in the street. Just got home, shelter down. Down on that Delta.

Muddy waters in my shoes. A-rockin' and a-swayin' to those lowdown blues. We live in ease and comfort down there, I declare.

I've been away a year today to wander and roam. But I don't care if it's muddy down there, still it's my home.
